Born on February 2nd, 1958, Engr. Sale Mamman, The Hon. Minister of Power comes from Jalingo LGA in Taraba State, Nigeria.

He obtained his Ordinary National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State in 1988 and Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa State in 1991, Other Schools attended include – Bayero University Kano, 2000-2003 (Post Graduate Diploma, Electrical Engineering. Master of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering 2007-2010 also Bayero University, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management in 2011-2012 also from Bayero University, master’s degree in human Relations (MB) from 2014-2015.

Engr. Mamman has also worked in many organisations which include – Ag. Head of Works, Jalingo Local Government 1983-1984. Technical Instructor, Vocational Training School Jalingo, 1988-1990. Ofoalya Primary and Secondary School, Ondo State in 1991-1992 (NYSC Certificate).  Ministry of Works and Housing Jalingo, Taraba State.

As an active Politician, Engr. Mamman has held many Political Positions both in Taraba State and Abuja having been the Pioneer State Party Chairman of the Taraba State CPC from 2010-2011.  He had moved up through his political years to become the Presidential Returning Officer, Taraba State in 2019, Some of his achievements includes the following: Initiation and Supervising Construction of Taraba State Liaison Office in Abuja, Kaduna and Lagos.

Engr. Mamman loves reading, sports-track and field as well as traveling is a member of some professional bodies which include:  NSE and is a Licensed COREN Member.

On Monday December 3rd 2018, The Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Renewable Energies announced that the Ivory coast would build Africa’s first floating solar power plant.

Floating PV structures allow normally more densely populated coastal areas to be serviced without sacrificing farm or urban land. An interesting approach and a first for West Africa where the Seychelles are also planning a similar project.

The GCF have pledged $27 Million as an incentive for local companies in Burkina Faso to supply 100 villages with power from solar mini grids. The “Yeleen Rural Electrification Project”, as it is known, is seen to be a good candidate for replicability and one that could encourage more private sector involvement in similar rural-electrification projects in Burkina Faso as well as the rest of sub-Saharan Africa. This investment is also likely to mobilise funds from the European Union, the Africa Development Bank, private investors and others.
